Transgrid’s Visit to the Honourable Minister of Power

PRESS RELEASES

February 2026

Aligning Delivery with Policy, Regulation, and National Priorities

Transforming Nigeria’s power sector requires alignment, between operators, policy direction, and regulatory intent.

Transgrid Enerco had the honour of meeting with the Honourable Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adekola Adelabu, to reaffirm a shared commitment to building a stronger, well-regulated, and accountable electricity sector.

Led by Chairman Engr. (Dr.) Olubunmi Peters and Group Managing Director/CEO Kolapo Joseph, our delegation engaged with the Ministry alongside Adedayo Olowoniyi, Chief Technical Adviser to the Honourable Minister.

The conversation centred on a critical priority: creating the right environment for credible local capital to participate in the sector, supported by clear policy direction, strong governance, and consistent regulatory standards.

At Transgrid, we recognise that sustainable progress is not driven by capital alone. It is driven by disciplined execution within a framework of accountability.

We shared our immediate focus areas for Eko Electricity Distribution Plc (EKEDP):

  • Strengthening operational discipline
  • Deploying targeted investments across the network
  • Delivering measurable outcomes that customers can experience

All aligned with the priorities of the Federal Ministry of Power and the expectations of the regulatory ecosystem.

We appreciate the Honourable Minister’s leadership and continued support for reforms that strengthen investor confidence, protect consumers, and enable long-term sector growth.

This alignment is essential, because real progress in electricity delivery must be coordinated, measurable, and sustained.
